Dear Parents,

Congratulations to our Character KidFaith Haas

and our Kid of the WeekJacob French.

Our latest Terrific Kid is Kylie Parrish.

Next Wednesday, April 23, is the first day of CRCT testing and Tuesday, April 29, is the last day. We will take the

Reading

portion of the test on Wednesday April 23. Please remember that it is a State wide requirement that third graders must pass the

Reading

portion of the test to go to fourth grade. We have been practicing extensively for this test and learning strategies to do our best.

Dr. Navarro talked with our class about going to bed early each night and being rested for the test. She also stressed healthy eating and limiting sugar between now and the end of testing. Daily outdoor exercise is also important.

Please make sure your child is at school well before

7:50

in order to be settled for testing which will begin immediately after announcements. Your child needs to bring at least two sharpened number 2 pencils, a healthy snack, a water bottle, and one or more A.R. books.

Remember you can continue to practice on line at home and ask your child comprehension questions in order to be prepared.

Your registration packets are coming home today.

Please complete and return at the beginning of the week.

Please encourage your child to meet his/her A.R. goal.

April 28 is our last to take tests.

Thanks,

Mrs. Gossett

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for the beautiful birthday flowers, cards, gifts and gift card. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Please encourage your children to continue to read and take A.R. tests, and meet individual goals. We are getting close to meeting our classroom goal and earning our pizza party.

Several children have asked for second copies of the CRCT letter with practice information. Therefore, we are sending another copy for each child today. Please look for a bright yellow sheet in your child’s work sample folder today. All information for practicing on the computer should be on this sheet.

We are also practicing for the test on a daily basis at school. Another great way to increase your child’s test score is to simply listen to him/her read each night. Then ask your child comprehension questions about the story or book.

Thank you to Mrs. Smith for doing a heat and energy Science experiment with us this week. We will begin our unit on National Government next week.
