CRCT has come to an end, but we still have school for three more weeks. Please remind your child that we are still learning and still have important things to do.It seems that grades have fallen this nine weeks. Thwere are still 15 more tdays to improve them.

Some students have made their AR goals this school year. This list includes: Alexa Allen, Danielle Akinwande, Brandon Boyo, and Maddy Blumsack. Congratulations to these students for reaching their goals! Please encourage your child to continue reading now and throughout the summer.

Tomorrow is Market Day! The students are getting very excited about it. I know the students have some great products to sell. Most of the students returned their product planning sheet, however a few did not. I hope they will have products so they can participate too.

Be on time . We will start testing promptly at 8:10  each day.

We have worked very hard all year and are prepared to show what we have learned.

I told the children we would have no homework this week. I'm sure this will bring a smile to their faces.

News from Room 123

Hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! We are down to our last week before the CRCT. Dr. Navarro came in  our class today to talk to the children about the importance of the test. She reminded the students to begin this week getting plenty of rest each night. She also stressed the importance of eating a healthy breakfast so they could do their best thinking. Remember the test starts on the 23rd.

We will be having Market Day on May 6th. Your children took home a project letter on Friday before Spring Break. The letter gives all the details about this project. Students have been earning money all year to deposit in their accounts. They will have the opportunity to purchase items from each other using the money they have earned. This activity will help the students learn about economics, productivity, marketing, supply, demand and consumerism. The business project sheet is due back on April 16th.

Please check to see that your child has the  necessary tools for school. These include number 2 pencils, erasers, and loose-leaf notebook paper. We could still use more tissues, bandaids, and Chlorox Wipes.

April 16th - Product Sheet Due

News from Lehmann's Room

Thanks to Mrs. Raup and Mrs. Godfrey for donating tissue to our classroom! We really appreciate it. We still need Clorox Wipes, bandaids, and baby wipes. Many of the children do not have snacks . It would be great if the parents could send some in.

Can't believe there is only one week until Spring Break! Everyone is excited, but we must focus as we prepare for the CRCT. Spring Fever is definitely in the air, but students must be on their best behavior and make the most out of this time.

Boosterthon went well, however there are a few students who have not returned their pledge money. There will be a letter going home on Monday as a reminder.

Mrs. Akinwande came Friday and gave us an update on Accelerated Reader and where the class stands. It seems that we are 64% of the way to our goal. It will take everyone doing their part to make the 100% goal. Your child can even check out books to read over the vacation, and take tests when he returns to school. The AR Program for this year will come to a close at the end of April.

CRCT Getting Closer

Parents,

Good job on the Math Measurement Projects! The children presented them in class today. They seemed to get a lot of enjoyment out of this project. Many had photos, some had hand drawn illustrations of their work in progress. Some of their units of measurement were quite interesting!

We are working hard to review and prepare for the CRCT, which begins April 23rd. We only have two weeks before  Spring Break so we have to make every day count.  We are spending time each day practicing in Math and Reading. Please encourage your child to continue to read and take tests. Several of the students have reached their goal, and some of them are very close. We do have a few who need to work much harder so they can celebrate also. The students need to continue studying the 6's - 9's in multiplication.

We still need tissue, Chlorox Wipes , bandaids, and baby wipes.

Lehmann's News

Things are happening around Still as usual. We are in the middle of the Boosterthon. I'm sure your children have been sharing their excitement with you. We have had many pledges over the last few days. The children still have tonight to collect money. Maybe they can make a few last minute calls and get a few more pledges. The Fun Run is scheduled for Wednesday from 8:00 - 9:00. Children should wear tennis shoes. This should be really fun! The children will be doing  all kinds of wacky runs around the track on the upper field. Come and join us if you like.

Our Tissue supply is getting low again and we will soon be back to Still tissue which isn't too kind to the nose.

Please continue to study the multiplication facts. We will continue to have timed tests whenever possible. Please make sure your child knows the 6"s -10's before the CRCT. Also, please have your child continue to read daily and take AR tests.

Even though spring is just around the corner, it seems it has arrived in our classroom. Please discuss why talking is not a good thing to do during instruction.
