Going Out Like a Lamb

We have had a great week from our "Square Day" to St. Patty's Day to our egg hunt.  Our trip to the Marietta Square was fabulous. At the fire station, we saw an interesting fire museum, watched a fire fighter suit up, and learned  important  fire safety tips. At the police station, we saw the different departments there and got to sit in a patrol car. During our courthouse visit, the class participated in a mock trial of The Case of the Stolen Backpack. Fortunately, Lauren, the accused, was found not guilty! I hope you have heard great stories from  your child about the trip.

Our egg hunt was lots of fun. Thanks to everyone who sent in candy and eggs and to the moms who put everything together and brought yummy goodies for us and our book buddies.

This week we are learning about dental health, telling time and our short vowel /a/. Also,  on Wednesday, Mrs. Lake, Emma's grandmother, is going to teach us about Georgia, and  on Friday we are going to do a Chick-fil-a taste test. Yum.

Each student will receive a Boosterthon shirt on Wednesday morning. Please make sure your child is wearing good walking shoes and  appropriate outerwear for the weather.

President's Day

Wow ! What a week we have had. Thanks for all the moms who  helped us with Valentine's Day and Teddy Bear week. Our bears had a lot of fun with us this week. We sorted, measured and wrote about our  little friends.

Thanks so much to Mrs. Lake who taught us about the presidents  this Friday. Next week, we will be out  of school on Monday and Tuesday  and the remainder of the week we will learn more about our country and our  presidents. This is a good  to discuss the election with your child.
